questions and answers for common issues

Question: Where can I try one of your guitars?
Answer: I do not have any retail outlets or dealer's at present - all my guitars are sold through me.

Question: How can I pay for one of your Guitars?
Answer: I accept payments via PayPal secure online invoicing system. You do not have to have a PayPal account, just a valid debit or credit card. PayPal handles the transaction securely - I do not have access to any of your information. The transaction may also carry some buyer protection provided by PayPal (see PayPal's website for more information)

Question: How can you sell your guitars for such low prices?
Answer: I strive to create the best guitar possible for the most reasonable price. I spent 16 years of my life living in the U.S.A. and have developed relationships with other Luthiers, wood shops, guitar manufacturers, hardware vendors and manufacturers.

I have also spent the best part of the last two years working with factories and suppliers in Canada, Asia, Hawaii (yes, its part of the U.S.A.), South America, and Africa. I have the ability to make or have made any guitar at very reasonable prices. I keep my overheads low and concentrate of pricing my products fairly.

Question: What kind of Warranty do you offer?
Answer: All my "TC Ellis Guitars" production runs have a 3 year limited warranty and a 14 day money back guarantee. Used guitars by other manufacturers will carry just the 14 day warranty.

Question: What options do you offer on your Guitars?
Answer: Depending on the production run you can choose top woods, hardware configuration, pickups, colour etc.

Question: How long does it take to perform a setup?
Answer: I generally spend about 3-4 hours on setting up a guitar - it is something that you can not rush.

Question: Do all your guitars get the pro setup?
Answer: YES!! All my "TC Ellis" production guitars are fully setup prior to delivery to the new owner. I will not sell a guitar unless I have set it up personally. No guitars will go out without my full attention. I can not stand a poorly set up guitar - Have you ever gone into a music store and tried out the "wall of Fenders / Gibson's, Ibanez etc" ? The term "Cheese Grater" comes to mind. Only about 1 in 20 guitars are set up well enough to play from the Factory so when you try the guitars in the store the "one that fits" is usually the one guitar that has been set up properly.

Question: How long does it take to make a Custom Guitar?
Answer: Very difficult to answer - each guitar is different & the availability of component parts can be an issue. I can have certain guitars built in less than 2 weeks to no longer than a few months.

Question: What are my options on a Custom Guitar?
Answer: It's up to you - wood selection, neck scale, pickups - anything you want. I can even have your name in Mother of Pearl on the headstock or at the 12th fret.

Question: How do I order a Custom Guitar from you?
Answer: Give me a call on 02920 515 656 to discuss, or email some pictures to custom@TCEllisGuitars.com
